For years, I've endured the embarrassment of dry, chapped lips and had to constantly camouflage my hot mess-self with gobs of lip gloss. You know the feeling. Like you've been sandblasted in the face and drinking all the water in the world only makes your bladder feel like a fully loaded supersoaker.
I scoured the internet researching and reading countless reviews with the most skeptic eye. Finally, I came across a product that intrigued me enough to make the investment of $15 plus shipping to try.
Let me make a note here that I am not a paid spokesperson for this product. I like to test beauty products and give my honest feedback and maybe some tips on how to utilize it for maximum results. Let's keep it real!
So there are 2 compartments. The first twist off blue-green cap section is the lip balm and the bottom is the line peel that's white with a soft, creamy texture.
First make sure your lips are completely clean from any lipstick or gloss. Apply a very thin coat of the line peel on the top and bottoms of your lips and wait for the cream to dry completely. I recommend using a baby washcloth on the smooth side to gently wipe away the residue back and forth and light circular motions. Paper towels will just disintegrate and regular face towels have too much lint.
Feel free to rinse away any residue and slightly pat your lips dry to reveal soft, smooth and supple lips. If you plan on wearing lip color, I would suggest to use a creamy lip pencil and color in your lips. Use the lip balm to smooth and blend the color all over your lips for a natural and seamless look.
Other brands to try are Sara Happ's the Lip Scrub ($24), Laura Geller Lip Strip ($20), and Philosophy Kiss Me Lip Scrub ($15-21). All of which had pretty high reviews on numerous sites. My next venture with lip scrubs will be testing out the cheaper brands like Skinnygirl lip scrub and Fabulips. I may also try the new green apple lip scrub from Sara Happ. If you're spending over $20 on a lip scrub, it should be stellar.
Have you tried and loved any of these products? Or is there a favorite that you have that I must absolutely try?
